Turner Center Welcomes Award-Winning Jazz Instrumentalists “The PR Experience” to the Art Park as part of the 2026 Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host jazz duo “The PR Experience” at the Turner Center Art Park, 605 North Patterson St., on Fri., May 1, 2026, 7PM. The concert is the seventh of eight (8) free live performances in the 2026 Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series, sponsored by the Levitt Family Foundation, The Price-Campbell Foundation, and supported by WALB News 10, Lamar Advertising, and The Valdosta Daily Times.

The PR Experience is a jazz duo comprised of Trumpeter, Nelson Render and Trombonist, Marvin Pryor. These two musicians represent more than fifty years of performance experience and are based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Pryor, born in Clermont, Florida, grew up between South Carolina and Connecticut and received his formal music training at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Render was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia and received his formal music training at Florida A&M University and Delaware State University.

Their collective professional experiences include tours, performances, recordings, and opening acts with groups such as: The OHIO Players, Cameo, Ray Charles, Mike Phillips, Rick Braun, Christopher Williams, Claudia Hayden, Alex Bugnon, Najee, Eric Roberson, Mike Phillips, Chi-Lites, The Dells, Third World, and many others.

The exciting and intriguing stage performances of The PR Experience have garnered headlining performances at the Stone Mountain Jazz Festival, Jazz on the River in Columbus, GA, IMR Indie Music Festival, the Sweet Auburn Festival, Atlanta’s Wednesday Wind Down, Mosaic RAW International Artist Showcase, and Praise 102.5/97.5 Gospel Jazz Showcase.

The public is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the concert. The on-site food vendor is The Crew Sips & Stacks and beverage vendor is Downtown Social. The opening act is the VHS Jazz Combo, which begins at 6:30pm, and the community partners for this show are Legacy, Azalea Recovery Alliance, South Street Community Center, Dept. of Public Health, Valdosta Lowndes County Jobs. Admission is free.
