Turner Center Continues Making Music in the Art Park

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts presents the Lloyd Carter Band on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 7-9 p.m., in the Turner Center Art Park, located at 605 N. Patterson Street. The concert is sponsored by Greater Valdosta United Way and is free to the public.

Community members are invited to bring their blankets or lawn chairs to this family and pet-friendly event, and relax in the park while enjoying the music. King of R&B and The Southern Cellar will be the on-site food and beverage vendors for this event. Read More

South Georgia Entertainers Help Create Networks and Industry Growth

The South Georgia Entertainers will meet on Tuesday, April 11, from 6-8 p.m., at the Turner Center for the Arts located at 527 N. Patterson Street. SGE is led by local musicians Lloyd Carter (Lloyd Carter Band) and Aaron Strickland (Naturally Southern) and meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, unless otherwise noted. The group brings musicians of all ages and experience levels together to discuss key industry issues, regional opportunities available, and ways to support one another. Read More

Turner Center Announces Winners in “The Art of Writing Contest”

Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts and its Young Writers League (YoWL) hosted the third annual Art of Writing Contest sponsored by Guardian Bank, Greater Valdosta United Way, Valdosta Daily Times, and Snake Nation Press. Middle and high school students in Valdosta, south Georgia, and the surrounding areas were invited to participate in the contest. More than 200 submissions were received based on this year’s theme “I Have a Dream.” Read More
