South Georgia Entertainers Help Create Networks and Industry Growth

The South Georgia Entertainers will meet on Tuesday, June 13, from 6-8 p.m., at the Turner Center for the Arts located at 527 N. Patterson Street. SGE is led by local musicians Lloyd Carter (Lloyd Carter Band) and Aaron Strickland (Naturally Southern) and meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, unless otherwise noted. The group brings musicians of all ages and experience levels together to discuss key industry issues, regional opportunities available, and ways to support one another.

Turner Center for the Arts Hosts New Gallery Exhibit Opening Reception

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts’ opening reception is Monday, June 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., at 527 N. Patterson Street. The gallery exhibit features the works of Hannah Gandy and Mary VanLandingham, Irina Kovnacka Ashcraft, the 2nd Annual Glass Art Invitational and the 15th Annual Valdosta People’s Choice Photo Contest. Admission is free.

Turner Center for the Arts Presents 2023 Songwriter Showcase

The 2023 Turner Center Songwriter Showcase takes place Tues., May 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. inside the Turner Center galleries, located at 527 N. Patterson Street.

This one-night only event features six talented, outstanding local songwriters, who will perform their original music to a captive audience and share the stories behind their songs. Performers for the Showcase are 2RiverStation (Jolyn Smith and Kerri Kent), Rocky Duckworth, Joe Smothers, Chip Tanner and Elijah Williams (Naturally Southern). Sound will be provided by Brant Pickard of Live Sound Consulting.
