“If you want joy in life, be an artist,” said Dean Little, featured artist in the gallery exhibit that opens Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, in Valdosta. The Gallery Opening Reception from 5-7 p.m. is free and open to the public. 

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host The Gaslights for a live Music in the Art Park concert on Fri., July 14 from 7-9 p.m. in the Art Park located at 605 N. Patterson St. The live concert, sponsored ACE Electric, Inc., is free to the public.

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts invites the community to help the arts flourish in Valdosta, Lowndes County, and surrounding regions. July 1 kicks off the 2023-2024 membership year and friends of the Turner Center, and anyone who loves the arts, are encouraged to join.

The South Georgia Entertainers will meet on Tuesday, June 13, from 6-8 p.m., at the Turner Center for the Arts located at 527 N. Patterson Street. SGE is led by local musicians Lloyd Carter (Lloyd Carter Band) and Aaron Strickland (Naturally Southern) and meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, unless otherwise noted. The group brings musicians of all ages and experience levels together to discuss key industry issues, regional opportunities available, and ways to support one another.

Patterson St. The live concert, sponsored by Home Instead and Campbell Construction and Roofing, is free to the public.

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host the Kenji Bolden Quartet for a live Music in the Art Park concert on Friday, May 12, from 7-9 p.m. in the Art Park, located at 605 N. Patterson St. The concert is sponsored by Bush Wealth Management, and is free to the public.

Congratulations to Jessie’s Restaurant and Catering, the winners of the 6^th Annual Valdosta Food & Wine Classic Best Dish award. The winning dish was chosen from among 11 participating vendors.
