Youth Drawing Class
Class meets 2nd Saturday of each month | 1-3pm
Do you have a youth who loves to draw? Looking for a way to help your child grow their artistic skills? This class will focus on a different drawing technique each month, including areas such as value, optical illusions, gesture drawing, and more! Students will gain the artistic tools they need to elevate their drawing skills to the next level and expand their artistic horizons.
Craft Academy
Class meets 3rd Saturday of each month | 2-4pm
In this class, students get crafty to explore various techniques and materials! Each class will focus on a new project that students can take home and enjoy immediately after class and can easily recreate on their own. In January, students will create an image using both warm and cool colors. The image will be hidden within lines, and warm colors will be used to make the image stand amongst the cool colors in the background. Two pieces of art will be created - one piece will depict a butterfly, while the other one shows a dinosaur.
Colored Pencil Workshop
Saturday, January 25 | 9am-4pm | 1 hour lunch break
It’s time to sharpen your pencils and improve your artistic skills in this one-day workshop! Students will gain an introduction to colored pencils, learn about the importance of design and cropping, transfer an image onto drawing paper, create a value chart with color pencils, under-paint with colored pencils, build up and apply layers of color, and receive assistance with individual questions. Using elements of design and a few supplies, students will gain new skills and get fantastic results! Student experience with drawing is strongly recommended for this workshop.
Fiber Art Journal Class
Saturday, January 25 | 10am-4pm | 1-hour lunch break
Class meets the 4th Saturday of each month | 10am-1pm
Begin journaling in 2025, with an artistic twist - journal using various fiber art techniques! These beginner-friendly classes will cover a different fiber art project to include in your journal each month, including an introduction to techniques such as rug hooking, weaving, silk painting, wool and raw edge applique, slow stitching, standing wool, and needle and wet felting. In January, students will design and create a cover for their journals. Students will have the option to draw their own design for the journal cover or trace a pattern. Students will then learn the rug hooking techniques needed to start creating their journal covers, and be able to take their supplies home to finish on their own time prior to the next class!
