Kerri Kent is our lead vocalist and long time singer songwriter in the Christian music industry since the age of 4. She comes from a long list of family musicians and has experienced appearances on television with the PTL Club at 11 years old and has done concert performances in several music halls and churches across the country. In her teens, Kerri was asked by Paramount Pictures to play the role of Annie in the movie production but turned it down. She graduated from Valdosta State University with a Music Ed degree and has been a full time Music and Theater teacher at Scintilla Charter School in Valdosta for the past eight years. Before that, she was a full-time mother raising her 2 children.

Jolyn Smith, the guitarist, has been a lover of the piano and guitar since youth and tinkered with both writing poetry and putting words to music. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a Studio Art degree because along with music, she loved to paint. She was a scholarship tennis player at WFU and later, started the first women’s tennis program at Clayton State College in Atlanta, GA. But after four years, decided pharmaceutical sales would get her out of the sun and eventually a job that led her back home to Valdosta. As of today, Jolyn has three part time jobs that allow her to focus on her loves of music, art, and ministry! You can find us on lnstagram and Facebook as 2RiverStation and are also producing videos for our YouTube Channel.

Joe Smothers was born in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. He grew up on BBQ, chili dogs, Brunswick stew and Elvis. Joe got his first guitar at the age of 13 when his mom purchased a Sella at the local pawn shop. One morning, Joe’s dad called him to the TV to see a blind guitar player on a local channel in Raleigh, NC. The man’s name was Doc Watson. Little did either one of them know that years down the road, Joe would have the honor of becoming a member of Doc and Merle Watson’s band, Frosty Morn. Years of touring and more than a dozen albums with Doc forged a relationship of deep respect. Joe has performed at every Merle Fest (31) and was also asked to perform at Doc’s funeral. Joe also toured extensively with Jack Lawrence as supporting act for John Prine, Leo Kottke and Emmylou Harris to name a few. Their duo was Smothers and Lawrence and recorded an album of the same name. Joe’s voice is strong and pure. His guitar playing is solid. His mastery in songwriting keeps your attention from beginning to end. Joe has remained active in touring and songwriting and has release several CDs and solo songs. Today, Joe also teaches guitars and splits his time between homes in Valdosta, GA and Cortez, FL with hi wife, Marghy.
