Payment: Due to limited availability, no spots in a class can be reserved unless payment for the spot is received both by the minimum registration deadline and before a class, workshop, or camp reaches capacity.

Refunds: We require two business days (Mon.-Fri.) notice to issue a refund or transfer a class. For camps, special workshops, and all classes, workshops, and camps at maximum capacity, a refund or transfer may or may not be given, regardless of the amount of notice given, due to high demand. Refunds or transfers can only be approved by the Art Education Administrator.

Classes are rarely cancelled by the Turner Center – however, in the event of failure to reach minimum student count, severe weather, etc. resulting in a cancellation, you will be contacted by the phone number and email address you share during registration with options for a refund and/or transfer.

Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required.

Class location: Classroom locations are included on registration forms and in confirmation emails. Classes take place in various facilities on the Turner Center’s campus and may occur outside of normal office and/or gallery hours.

The Turner Center’s full media release, which applies to all videos, photos, etc. can be found here. Your agreement to class policies during registration is equivalent to signing this form. In summary, you grant the Turner Center, in respect to media (e.g. photographs, video, etc.) of you alone or with others, the absolute and irrevocable right and permission to use, re-use, publish, and re-publish the same in whole or in part. You also release and hold harmless TCA from any reasonable expectation of privacy or confidentiality for the media specified above and acknowledge that participation is voluntary (opt-out by contacting Art Education Administrator Hailey Rathmann at hrathmann@turnercenter.org or 229.247.2787).

Accommodations: If you need any special accommodations or have any special circumstances the instructor should prepare for, please contact Art Education Administrator Hailey Rathmann at hrathmann@turnercenter.org or 229.247.2787 before completing your registration.

Artwork pickup: Creations from most of our programs can be taken home the same day of the class. Exceptions apply to all creations made in ceramics and glass classes. Creations from the ceramics classes take four to six weeks to be fired and held for pickup, on average. Creations from glass art classes take three to five days to be fired and held for pickup, on average. Students will receive an email and/or a call from the Turner Center when creations are ready for pickup. Creations will only be held for 90 days after this notice, after which they will become property of the Turner Center.

Clay and glass supplies: All clay, glazes, and glass materials used must be provided by the Turner Center, unless they are approved as kiln safe by the Turner Center’s Lead Instructor & Studio Manager (Ramiro Santillan, Ceramics) (Emma Kostopolus, Glass). Using non-Turner Center approved materials may destroy equipment and impact the overall program.

Weekday Pottery Makeup Classes: Student payments are for the month registered for – for example, payments for March Weekday Pottery Classes on Wednesdays 10am-Noon can only be used for March Weekday Pottery Classes on Wednesdays 10am-Noon, unless a cancellation or transfer of the registration is approved by the Art Education Administrator (as stated in the refund policy). If a student must miss a scheduled class, they should discuss it ahead of time with the instructor or contact the Art Education Administrator and find another class time to attend as a makeup session. This can only be done twice per month. For any additional missed classes beyond two, or for a missed class that the student does not request a makeup class for during the month the class was missed, the absence acts as a class taken. The Turner Center prioritizes and values all long-term and returning students in Weekday Pottery, and these students have first access to registration in person or by phone. However, due to limited capacity, any Weekday Pottery spots not paid for at least 2 weeks in advance of the next month will be open to the public, and cannot be guaranteed to a returning student (i.e. payment for May not made by the beginning of the 3rd week of April means that a student’s spot will be open for registration, and the returning student may or may not get that spot, as it will also become available to waitlist students and/or to the general public).
