The Valdosta Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) has canceled its December 16, 2021 meeting. The next regularly scheduled PAAC meeting will take place on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
The purpose of PAAC is to further the purchase, creation and appreciation of public art for its aesthetic value to the community. The PAAC also encourages the preservation and protection of works of public art which play a vital role in the economic development of the community.

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts and the Young Writers League (YoWL) invite middle and high school students to participate in the second annual Art of Writing contest. The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts is accepting nominations for the Lena Bosch Lifetime Achievement Award. This inaugural award will recognize individuals who have exhibited outstanding, creative, innovative and visionary leadership in the growth and advancement of the arts in our community through involvement with the Turner Center.
The award was established in 2020 to recognize Bosch’s lifetime of contributions to the Lowndes/Valdosta Arts Commission (LVAC), the Turner Center, and to the overall arts community. Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 31, 2022. Read More
The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts has been awarded a Cultural Facilities Grant by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), a division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
The GCA received 39 Cultural Facilities Grant applications from arts organizations and municipal arts facilities across the state. The Turner Center was one of only 10 entities in nine counties statewide that received a grant through the 2022 program. Read More

The Valdosta Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) will host their next monthly meeting on Thursday, September 16, at 11:30 a.m. In order to practice social distancing, this public meeting will be held in the Price-Campbell Gallery of the Turner Center for the Arts, located at 527 N. Patterson Street. It is requested that each attendee wears a mask.

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host The Creeksiders for a live Music in the Art Park concert on Fri., September 10 from 7-9 p.m. in the Art Park located at 605 N. Patterson St. The live concert is sponsored by Patrick Parker and is free to the public. Read More
