YOUTH CLASSES

“Every child is an artist.” – Picasso

EXPRESSION THROUGH THE ARTS. The arts enrich our lives, communities and culture, and will also be instrumental in getting us to normal. As the arts hub for our area and region, we offer creative and innovative programs, events and experiences that you’ve come to expect from the Turner Center for the Arts.

VISUAL & DIGITAL ARTS

Students explore a variety of visual and digital arts from drawing and painting to creating digital art and more. Our instructors experiment with colors, various materials and mediums, form and the principles of design to create a joyful and meaningful experience in visual and digital arts.

POTTERY

These classes teach hand-building, pinch pot and coils techniques using a slab of clay. Students learn how to mold and manipulate the clay, apply glazes, learn simple ceramic vocabulary and have an understanding of firing techniques.

THE HAL & JILL PROJECT

The Hal & Jill Project, an outreach program at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, allows youth ages 6 through 18 to positively express themselves through music. Through diverse instruments and instructors, students discover the many benefits that learning to play a musical instrument provides.
