Turner Center Closes for Storm, Reschedules Gallery Opening

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will be CLOSED on Monday, Aug. 5 due to inclement weather. This includes all activities and classes in any of its five facilities. The Center has also postponed the opening of its Gallery Opening Reception to Monday, Aug. 12, at 5-7pm, for the safety of all patrons and traveling artists. For more information and updates, follow us on social media.

Turner Center Named a Blue Star Museum

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts is proud to be identified nationally as a Blue Star Museum. Through a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with the Department of Defense and museums across America, the Turner Center continues to offer free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve.

Folsom Honored for Exceptional Role as LVAC Board President

Valdosta City Center Arts District Features Art Walk

A new partnership between Valdosta Main Street and the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts is drawing attention to the Valdosta City Center Arts District and providing year-round opportunities for Valdosta residents to engage the District. Funded by a More Than Murals grant through the Georgia Council for the Arts, the partnership promotes strong connections between artists, arts organizations, downtown businesses, and the public.

Turner Center Offers Digital Arts, Technology, Animation, and Media Classes for Area Middle and High School Students

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will launch a Digital Arts, Technology, Animation and Media (DATAM) program for area middle and high school students. Funded by a National Endowment for the Arts grant and a matching grant from the Loyce & Annette Turner Foundation, Inc., the new program seeks to expose students to technical arts and potential career fields.

Turner Center Launches Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series with $90K Matching Grant

10 Weekly Outdoor Concerts, Free to the Community, Aug. 17-Oct. 26

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will launch the Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series on Thursday, Aug. 17, from 7-9 p.m., in the Turner Center Art Park. The Aug. 17 concert will kick off several weeks of outdoor music events, free for the community, as a result of a $90,000 matching grant the Turner Center received from the Levitt Foundation in November 2022. The grant is matched by the Price-Campbell Foundation for the 2023 season.

Turner Center for the Arts Presents 2023 Songwriter Showcase

The 2023 Turner Center Songwriter Showcase takes place Tues., May 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. inside the Turner Center galleries, located at 527 N. Patterson Street.

This one-night only event features six talented, outstanding local songwriters, who will perform their original music to a captive audience and share the stories behind their songs. Performers for the Showcase are 2RiverStation (Jolyn Smith and Kerri Kent), Rocky Duckworth, Joe Smothers, Chip Tanner and Elijah Williams (Naturally Southern). Sound will be provided by Brant Pickard of Live Sound Consulting.
