Join Us and Celebrate the Arts
Creative places are essential to all communities. According to Americans for the Arts, that impact is $1.4 Billion in Georgia and $152 Billion across the U.S. The Lowndes-Valdosta Arts Commission, Inc. Board and Turner Center Staff are grateful for our members who help us contribute to the sustainability of our local economy, tourism, schools, neighborhoods, and overall community through creativity and innovation. Because of you, we are able to serve multiple communities with creative classes, resources, and experiences on our campus.
Thank you to everyone who supports the Center, financially and otherwise. Your involvement helps us foster creativity and strengthen our communities. But there are many other ways to support the Center – become a member, plan your events here, attend our fundraisers, volunteer your time, and YES, you can still make financial donations throughout the year, no special campaign needed. In fact, some of you signed up as monthly donors – and every gift matters. So, thank you very much!
The Meta Shaw Coleman Children’s Imagination Station is stirring excitement in our community, as this 10,000 square-foot immersive world of hands-on STEAM activities—to be completed in Spring of 2026—will peak the current interests and inspire the future career trajectory of our youth. Please take a moment to view the “walk through” video link to join our excitement. If you are interested in making a donation or purchasing an exhibit-naming opportunity, please contact CIS Fundraising Chair Evelyn Langdale at [email protected] or click HERE for information about naming opportunities. The Imagination Station is one of five facilities and an Art Park on our Campus that stimulates creativity and innovation in nearly 40,000 visitors of all ages, each year.
It’s such an exciting time at the Turner Center and so many events are coming your way! There’s still time to join us for our Mahjong Fundraising event on February 10 – we’re still accepting players and spectators are welcome – click HERE for tickets and info. The 2025-2026 Presenter Series season is in full swing and the second show is just around the corner! The fabulous The Doo Wop Project is Thursday, February 26, 7:30pm at the Performing Arts Center. The dynamic Broadway stars of The Doo Wop Project are on a mission to put Doo Wop on everyone’s playlist! With their smokin’ hot band, they capture and deliver the classic sounds of the guys who, back in the day, harmonized with each other on stoops, in the subway, and on street corners, and they have also created a unique, exciting, fun way to “Doowop-ify” today’s biggest hits! Tickets can be purchased HERE, by calling the Center, or at the door the night of the performance. Click HERE to learn more about upcoming shows. In addition, we’re celebrating America250 in honor of our Nation’s 250th Anniversary. Click HERE to keep up with America250 events happening around Turner Center Campus. There are too many special events happening to mention here – make sure to follow us on social media and visit our website Calendar often to keep up. We can’t wait for you to create memorable experiences with us.
Thank you for your continued support in and friendship with the Turner Center, and we hope to see you soon!
