Join Us and Celebrate the Arts
Creative places are essential to all communities. According to Americans for the Arts, that impact is $1.4 Billion in Georgia and $152 Billion across the U.S. The Lowndes-Valdosta Arts Commission, Inc. Board and Turner Center Staff are grateful for our members who help us contribute to the sustainability of our local economy, tourism, schools, neighborhoods, and overall community through creativity and innovation. Because of you, we are able to serve multiple communities with creative classes, resources, and experiences on our campus.
Now that this amazing year is coming to a close, we need your support in funding the future of the arts here at the Turner Center, now more than ever through our End-of-Year Giving Campaign. The arts are fundamental to our community. They enrich our lives and culture. The arts inspire us and foster creativity, strengthen our communities – emotionally and financially. There are many ways to support the Turner Center – become a member, make a gift donation, plan your event here, attend our fundraisers, and volunteer your time. Turner Center strives to cultivate curiosity and passion for art in its many forms. You can make a difference, today. We invite you to think about what the arts mean to you, your family, our community, and our region. Today, a contribution. Tomorrow, you will have made all the difference.
Construction on the Meta Shaw Coleman Children’s Imagination Station is stirring excitement in our community, as this 10,000 square-foot immersive world of hands-on STEAM activities—to be completed in Spring of 2026—will peak the current interests and inspire the future career trajectory of our youth. Please take a moment to view the “walk through” video link to join our excitement. If you are interested in making a donation or purchasing an exhibit-naming opportunity, please contact CIS Fundraising Chair Evelyn Langdale at [email protected] or click HERE for information about naming opportunities. The Imagination Station is one of five facilities and an Art Park on our Campus that stimulates creativity and innovation in nearly 40,000 visitors of all ages, each year.
Our adult and youth art classes are in full swing and some very special workshops are open to registration – we can’t wait for you to create memorable experiences with us at the Center. Click HERE to keep up-to-date on our classes and events.
Thank you for your continued support in and friendship with the Turner Center, and we hope to see you soon!
