2026 TCA Ceramic Invitational

The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts in partnership with the Valdosta Public Art Advisory Council invites ceramic artists of all skill levels from across the region to participate in the 2026 AHTCA Ceramic Showcase. Artists are invited to enter up to two works with $600 in prizes to be awarded.

RULES FOR ELIGIBILITY

1. An artist may enter one or two original works of their own creation (no reproductions).
2. Prices should include a 30% commission that will be paid to AHTCA for works sold during, or as a direct result of showing in this exhibit.
3. Artists must be 16 years or older to participate.
4. All works must have been created in the last two years, and not previously shown at the AHTCA.
5. All works must be composed 90% or more of ceramic clay.
6. Works cannot exceed 61 inches in height or width, including the frame (if applicable.)
7. Hanging pieces must not exceed 50 lbs, , and must be ready to hang by one point upon delivery.
8. Freestanding works must be stable and shall not exceed 90 pounds in weight or 61 inches in any dimension.
9. Works that are exceptionally fragile, require special installation or electrical supply will not be accepted.
10. Absolutely no works may be removed from the show before 6pm on September 16, 2026.
11. The AHTCA reserves the right to reject any artwork or exclude from award consideration for rule infraction.

ARTIST REQUIREMENT

– Participants are required to determine and provide the title, selling price and medium, for each entry.
– The selling price should include the 30% commission for the Turner Center for the Arts.
– Entry forms should be completely filled out upon submission, including all of the requested artwork information.
– No revisions to artwork information will be accepted after the end of day Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
– Artwork that does not meet the rules of eligibility may result in rejection from exhibit or exclusion for award consideration.
– Artists are asked to attend the gallery opening reception, if possible.

SUBMISSIONS

Important Dates:

Submission Deadline – July 8, 2026

Art Delivery Dates – July 29 & 30, 2026
Labeled works should be delivered to the Turner Center for the Arts at 527 N. Patterson Street, Valdosta.
Delivery hours: Wednesday, July 29, from 10am – 6pm, Thursday, July 30 from 10am – 4pm.

Gallery Opening Reception – Monday, August 3, 2026
The Gallery Opening is from 5 – 7pm. Entry is free and open to the public.

Exhibit Ends – Wednesday, September 16, 2026
Artwork will remain on display until 6pm on September 16.

Art Pickup* – Thursday & Friday, September 17 and 18
All works must be picked up from the Turner Center on Thursday, September 17, from 10am – 6pm or Friday, September 18, from 10am – 4pm.

*Artwork not collected by September 30, 2026 will be forfeited to the Turner Center and will not be stored.
