Painting classes allow students from all experience levels to enjoy and explore a variety of painting mediums and techniques, from subject painting to abstract! Students are given the freedom to express themselves, explore, and take risks in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Class meets 2nd Tuesday of each month

In this beginner-friendly class, students will use acrylics to create an abstract work of art! Class material includes basic painting techniques, color theory, and a step-by-step approach to creating your own work of art. Back by popular demand - in December, students will create two miniature abstract wreaths - perfect for adding to holiday décor or for gifting!

Paints & Pastries

Class meets 2nd Monday of each month

This beginner-friendly class is an excellent way to try your hand at acrylics or to brush up on your skills! Students will paint a different subject each month and learn new techniques in the process, including underpainting, value, layering, blending and more.

All classes are held in the Art Annex, on the main campus of Turner Center for the Arts, 601 N. Patterson Street, unless otherwise noted. Due to limited availability NO REFUNDS will be given unless you notify the Center 48 hours prior to class by calling 229.247.2787. For information on class discounts and other FAQs, please click here. PLEASE NOTE: All Turner Center classes and workshops must meet required minimum class size, or they will be cancelled. All registered class attendees will be notified and refunded (if attending a paid class or workshop) in the event of a cancellation by the Turner Center.
