Youth Heart & Soul of Art Camp
- Taught by Jessica Akins (St. John School art teacher)
- Dates: July 14-18, 2014
- Time: 10am – noon
- Ages 8-12
- Mosaic, tie-die, and printmaking instruction inspired by Jim Dine experience! Mosaic picture frames- a monoprint self-portrait on foam and heart prints, and a heart design tie dye t- shirt or bandana.
- The first day will be taking a photo of the students, show Jim Dine work and discuss his heart monoprints, beginning the mosaic, and rubber banding the shirts/bandanas.
- 2nd day – dying the shirts/bandanas, grouting the frames, and beginning drawing on foam for the printmaking.
- 3rd day – seal grouted frames, and begin heart monoprints.
- 4th day – continue heart monoprints and start self-portrait monoprints on foam.
- 5th day – finish printmaking and get photos of students holding their frames and wearing their shirts, or holding their bandanas.
- Cost: $50, including supplies.
