Public Art Community Open Studio

The Turner Center for the Arts invites you to attend a series of Community Open Studios with Artist-in-Residence Joel Dion.
During this open studio participants will be helping the artist with clay carving and decal transfers
These Open Studios for community members will be held in the Hudson Building across Webster Street from the Turner Center.

July 3 – Clay carving and decal transfers
July 16, 17 and 23 – Glazing tiles
Anyone interested in these processes and who would like to assist the artist in creating this public art mural is invited to come help him! You can also simply drop by and observe the artist at work. Each open studio will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and several more may be added in July.
Come and be a part of the public art landscape in Valdosta!
Attendees should wear work clothes or bring an apron. Please come at the beginning of the studio time if you wish to help with the tile carving, glazing or any other hands-on activities.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
All participants are required to sign a registration sheet and pre-register by calling Gabi Garrett at the Turner Center, 229-247-ARTS (2787).
The Summer Artist-in-Residence Program is made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts with matching funds from the Price-Campbell Foundation.
