Spring Into Art
The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts Presents:
The Annual Spring into Art Show provides artists of all levels with the opportunity to participate in a truly unique exhibition. The judges were carefully selected for their knowledge and ability to pick works based on merit alone. Awards were presented and the Colson Calendar selections were announced at the Gala opening this year.

Spring Into Art 2012 Judges’ Biography & Credentials
Important Dates:
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 – Deadline for entry.
Completed entry form and entry fee due or postmarked by March 21.
March 31, April 2, 3 – Art delivery dates.
Labeled works should be delivered to the Turner Center at 527 N. Patterson St. in Valdosta, GA. Hours: Saturday, March 31, from 10am – 4pm, or Monday, April 2 & Tuesday, April 3 from 10am – 6pm.
April 9, 2012 – Opening reception Gala.
The opening reception Gala will be from 6 – 9pm. Tickets for this event are $45 each. Participating artists and one guest each will be welcome free of charge.
June 6, 2012 – Spring Into Art 2012 ends.
The exhibition will end on Wednesday, June 6, at 6pm.
June 7 & 8, 2012 – Art Pickup dates.
All works must be picked up from the Turner Center on Thursday or Friday, from 10am – 5pm. Works selected for the Colson Calendar will be ready for pickup at a later date, and artists will be notified.

Spring Into Art Invitation Desgin Contest Winner

Ashlyn Woods, daughter of Christy Bellflower and George Woods, won the 2012 Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts Spring Into Art Invitation Design Contest. The S. L. Mason 2nd grader’s design took top honors over many entries, now displayed in the art center’s Children’s Gallery. Her artwork was used on the 2012 Spring Into Art invitations and tickets. Ashlyn, her parents and brothers, and her teacher, Christine Cabral, will be honored guests for the Spring Into Art reception, scheduled for 6-9 p.m., April 9, at the arts center. Ashlyn also won a complimentary week of art classes at the Center’s Summer Art Camp. Each spring, the Center invites area elementary school art teachers to encourage their students to enter the contest.
