Do I need to bring any supplies with me?
All supplies will be provided unless otherwise specified during class registration.

How do I dress for classes?
You must wear closed-toe shoes – otherwise, dress in comfortable clothing that you don’t mind looking just as artistic as your creation by the end of class.

Can I take my creation home the same day as my class?
Creations from most of our programs can be taken home the same day of the class. Exceptions apply to all creations made in Weekday Pottery Classes, Kids & Adult Pottery Workshops, Stained Glass Class, Fused Glass Class, Glass Arts Open Studio, Flameworking 101, Sculptural Flameworking, and Glassblowing Experiences & Workshops. Creations from the ceramics classes above typically take between three and five weeks to be fired and held for pickup. Creations from glass art classes above typically take 48-72 hours to be fired and held for pickup. Students should receive word from the instructor of when the first available pickup date is, or they will get a call from the Turner Center when creations are being held for pickup. Creations will only be held for 90 days, after which they will become property of the Turner Center.

Can I view more information about the instructor for a class?
Information about each of our instructors, including artistic qualifications and bios, is available here.

Can I get a refund if I missed my class?
We require 48-hours notice to issue a refund for a class. We understand that sometimes emergencies arise. On a case-by-case basis, your payment may be applied to another class. For summer camps, special workshops, and all classes at maximum capacity, a refund may or may not be given even in an emergency, due to high demand.

Am I eligible for a discount code, and how do I use it?
Enter your code in the blank found at the end of a class registration form. Contact Art Education Administrator Hailey Rathmann to get your military, student, or member code if you do not have it already. Codes cannot be combined. Codes must be requested before payment is received and applied during the registration process. Military discount codes are valid for active duty persons and veterans with a verifiable ID. Student discount codes apply to persons ages 16+ enrolled in high school and/or in a higher education institution with a verifiable ID (or teacher reference for homeschoolers without an ID card). Member discount codes apply to the person whose name the membership is in, as well as to their children and grandchildren under 18. All spouses, other family members, and children or grandchildren over the age of 18 are responsible for their own memberships and according member discount codes. Memberships must meet the minimum contribution required for the “Friend” level to be eligible for this discount.

Are scholarships for classes available?
Scholarships are given on a case-by-case basis according to need. The majority of scholarship funds are reserved for youth under the age of 18, however, adults ages 18 and older will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. You can apply for a scholarship for yourself or someone else here.

Are there group rates for opportunities such as birthday parties and team building exercises?
If you are interested in setting up a group event with us, contact Art Education Administrator Hailey Rathmann with the details of the event you’d like to create. Requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Can I bring my own clay, glaze, and glass for ceramics and glass art classes?
All clay, glazes, and glass materials used must be provided by the Turner Center, unless they are approved as kiln safe by the Turner Center’s Lead Instructor & Studio Manager (Ramiro Santillan, Ceramics) (Emma Kostopolus, Glass). Using non-Turner Center approved materials may destroy equipment and impact the overall program.
