Join the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts to sip a cup of joe and create a work of art. Coffee & Canvas is a beginner acrylic painting class for adults ages 18 and up. Classes begin on April 7 from 10 a.m.-noon in the Art Annex located at 601 N. Patterson Street and will take place on the first Wednesday of each month thereafter.

Instructor and artist Viola Davis will teach students the ins and outs of acrylic painting including mixing, underpainting, value, layering, blending and more. Each class meeting will give students the opportunity to explore a different subject matter to paint.

“I’m hoping that I can provide a space that is comfortable enough for everyone to feel like they can have fun, take risks, and feel that they will be supported,” said Davis. “I’m super excited to see all the amazing things the students will create and how much we all will learn.”

Coffee & Canvas is the perfect class for anyone looking to adopt a relaxing hobby and learn a new skill along the way. Classes are $25 per month for each student and all supplies, including the caffeine, will be provided.
