The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host American Idol finalist Megan Danielle, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Turner Center Art Park, 605 North Patterson Street, on March 29, 2024.
Danielle, a native of Douglasville, Georgia, gained national notoriety with her tenure on the 21st season of the iconic series, where she would finish as the season’s runner-up in a closely-contested competition.
A live performer since the age of 15, Danielle says that music has always been a strong presence in her life. “Since I was a little girl, I have always enjoyed listening to music and singing along to anything I’d hear,” says Danielle. “I was always so shy to pursue it but eventually around the age of 15, I booked my own show at a restaurant in Douglasville.” She would compete on The Voice in 2020, and, in 2022, with the help of a record producer who reached out to her via Instagram, Danielle auditioned for American Idol with the full support of friends and family. There, she showcased her talents and her wide variety of musical influences, citing inspiration from artists such as Miranda Lambert, Fleetwood Mac, Lauren Daigle, and Patty Griffin, among others.
Since then, Danielle has continued to work with major music industry writing talent. Her debut single, “Dream Girl,” was released in 2023. Attributing her hard work and success to her faith and the influence of her late grandfather, whom she cites as the person who most encouraged her to live up to her potential, the 21-year-old is excited to develop her musical career by drawing on a lifetime of transformative experiences.
The concert is the third of 10 free, live performances in the 2024 Levitt AMP Valdosta Music Series, sponsored by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation and the Price-Campbell Foundation.
