Glass Art Academy 101 Application Deadline

January 4

glass art 101 academy

Moody Air Force Base veterans, Valdosta State University Art & Design students, and Valdosta High School seniors are invited to participate in Glass Art 101 Academy, a multi-generational glass outreach program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Glass Art 101 Academy will introduce glass art as a career field and provide 23 total hours of instruction in the historical art mediums of stained glass, flameworking, fused glass, and glassblowing to fifteen participants. Each participant’s classes, worth $825, will be provided for free. Participants will receive a certificate of completion, have the opportunity to continue taking glass art courses at the discounted member class rate for one year after completion of the program, and enter their works in the Turner Center’s 3rd Annual Glass Art Invitational Exhibit. The exhibit, set to open to the public on June 9, 2024, will allow participants to sell their work while exposing it to thousands who visit the Turner Center’s Galleries cost-free.

To learn more about Glass Art 101 Academy, to submit an application, and to view regular glass art classes, visit turnercenter.org/classes. Contact Art Education Administrator Hailey Rathmann at 229.247.2787 for additional information or assistance.
