Waves & Washes Workshop

Saturday, June 28 | 10am-6pm, with a one-hour lunch break at 1pm

In this three-in-one workshop, each student will design and create a 40 oz. sublimation tumbler, tassel straw dangle, and rug-hooked mug rug! Sublimation is a drawing/painting technique that uses special ink in semi-transparent color layers called washes, which are combined with line drawings using special pens. Students will create their own design or follow a pattern; the design will then be heat-transferred onto the tumbler’s surface – making it resistant to fading and scratching. Students will also use various fiber art materials to create a tassel straw dangle, and a mug rug to accessorize each unique tumbler! Students will not finish the mug rug in class but will be given everything needed to finish at home.
