Craft Academy

Class meets 3rd Saturday of each month | 2-4pm

In this class, students get crafty to explore various techniques and materials! Each class focuses on a new project that students can take home and enjoy immediately after class and can easily recreate on their own. In June, each student will create loose watercolor scenes on paper, use the colors to create shapes such as flowers and landscapes, and draw back into the shapes using a pen to add further detail. As they create their own original art, students will learn about Helen Frankenthaler, an abstract expressionist who used the technique of soak staining to create canvases with paint that meld and blend together while soaking into the canvas.
