The Turner Center for the Arts hosted the 3rd annual ARToberfest on Oct. 24 in the Turner Center Art Park. ARToberfest, which is quickly becoming one of Valdosta’s favorite fall traditions, featured original artwork from local and regional artists, a wide variety of food and beverages, art activities for kids, several artist demonstrations, which included glass blowing and wood turning, a Plein Air contest, and live musical entertainment.  According to Turner Center Executive Director Sementha Mathews, the event was a great opportunity to support artists who may have experienced economic setbacks due to COVID-19 and to expose the community to known and unknown talented artists. Between 600-800 people visited the four-hour event. The 3rd Annual ARToberfest was made possible by a generous sponsorship from Barbara and Brantley Jenkins and community-wide support.
