Application Deadline for the Not Just News Public Art Project

The Valdosta Daily Times and the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts are partnering to present “Not Just News: A Public Art Project.”
The Times is offering 14 newspaper racks to serve as public canvases for area artists, said Andrew Wardle, the newspaper circulation director.
The Times asks artists to submit designs and applications by Aug. 10. Fourteen designs will be selected and materials provided so the chosen artists can place their artworks onto the newspaper racks.
Once completed, three of the racks will be selected as the best of the project, Wardle said, and $500 in cash prizes will be divided among the top three artists.
