Cheryl Oliver (Executive Director) coliver@turnercenter.org
Cheryl began her tenure at the Turner Center in March 2008 as Interim Executive Director and assumed the position of Executive Director in July 2008. A native of Quitman, she attended Valdosta State (College) and now lives in Lake Park with her husband, Jack, and dog, Sammye. Cheryl has a son and two stepsons, all grown and married, which gives her three adored daughters-in-law. She is a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church where she serves as a Trustee and Sunday School teacher. Interests include (but are not limited to) sports, gardening, fishing, travel, entertaining and all aspects of the arts.
Bill Shenton (Curator) bshenton@turnercenter.org
Bill became Curator of the Turner Center in June 2009. He is a Valdosta native married to Anne Wilhoite Shenton. Bill received a B.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia in 2004. As curator, his duties include booking artists, creating gallery displays, giving tours of the galleries and developing promotional material for Turner Center events. Bill enjoys painting, cooking and any opportunity to be in a boat, especially salt water fishing.
Linda Facile (Administrative Assistant: Presenters Series) lfacile@turnercenter.org
Linda serves as ticket sales coordinator for the Presenter Series and other events. She lives in Hahira with her husband, Tom. They have two daughters, one granddaughter and four grand-godchildren. Linda enjoys painting, reading, beachcombing and collecting shells.
Tracey Timmons (Development Coordinator) ttimmons@turnercenter.org
Tracey works as membership coordinator and has a myriad of other duties. This Fall her daughter (who has worked part-time at the Turner Center), will be a sophomore at Auburn University. Tracey’s hobbies include creating original jewelry, often found for sale in our gift shop.
Nancy Smith (Housekeeping Coordinator) nsmith@turnercenter.org
Nancy has for five years served as Housekeeping Coordinator for the Turner Center. Born in Hahira, she now lives in Valdosta with her husband, Eric, and three sons. She is an ordained evangelist. Her interests, besides her boys, include Bible study and getting more educated about the arts.
Martha Douglas (Marketing and Events Coordinator) mdouglas@turnercenter.org
Martha Douglas graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in Art History. She lived in Atlanta before moving to Valdosta with her husband, Jed. In December 2010, Martha came on board to work as the marketing, events and grants coordinator. She has a passion for the arts and her hobbies include drawing portraits, painting and watching Georgia football.
